Indigenous Clean Energy Funding & Advisory Analyst

melyn is an Indigenous-focused funding and advisory firm based in Calgary. We work alongside First Nations communities across Canada to research, structure, and secure funding for community priorities, including clean energy and energy transition projects.

As our Indigenous Clean Energy Funding & Advisory Analyst, you will support First Nations clients in developing and funding clean energy and energy transition projects. Day to day, you will:

• Research and write funding applications for clean energy programs
• Build budgets and project concepts for community energy initiatives
• Coordinate with Nations and funders
• Support community clean energy planning

What you will gain: hands-on experience on live client files, direct mentorship from our team with regular one-on-one check-ins, a real portfolio of funding and project-development work, and relationships across First Nations communities and the clean energy funding sector.

The details:

• Full-time internship through the Generation Power program (Indigenous Clean Energy)
• 6 months: October 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027
• $25.00/hour, 37.5 hours/week
• Remote-first: work from your own comfortable space, anywhere in Canada. We provide all required software and work-related tools, and we build in paid flexibility for cultural and community commitments.

Who we are looking for: an Indigenous youth (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis), 18 to 30, eligible to work in Canada, who is organized, a strong writer, and interested in clean energy and community development. No grant-writing experience required. We will train you.
